HOW TO IMPROVE THE GRADE OF CHROMITE, CHROMITE BENEFICIATION PROCESS

OVERVIEW

In the past few days, a Turkish geologist friend and I exchanged ideas about the beneficiation method of chromite ore. Today I will share with you how to beneficiate chromite ore.

The hardness of chromite is 5.5, the specific gravity is 4.2~4.8, and it has weak magnetic properties. Therefore, magnetic separation is one of the effective methods of beneficiation. Sometimes, if the grade of the concentrate after magnetic separation does not meet the requirements, gravity beneficiation technology will be added for beneficiation.

BENEFICIATION PRINCIPLE

MAGNETIC SEPARATION

It is a method of beneficiation using the different magnetic permeability of various minerals. Because different minerals react differently to the magnetic field, minerals with high magnetic permeability are easily attracted by the magnetic disk, and minerals with low magnetic permeability are not attracted by the magnetic disk, thus realizing the separation between minerals.

GRAVITY SEPARATION

Sometimes, if the grade of the concentrate after magnetic separation does not meet the requirements, gravity beneficiation technology will be added for beneficiation. We use a shaking table to perform gravity beneficiation on the concentrate after the magnetic separation of chromite.

Shaking table is a device for beneficiation according to the specific gravity and particle size of mineral particles. The mineral particles are loosely layered in the grooves on the surface of the shaker by the action of water flow and the vibration of the bed surface. The upper light mineral particles are affected by the larger water flow and move laterally along the bed surface to become tailings and directly discharged. The heavy mineral particles at the bottom of the bed are subjected to the vibration of the bed surface and move to the opposite side of the transmission end to form a concentrate.
